Friday, February 13: A water leak was detected in a main water line in the town of Las Vegas NM. The town was almost immediately put under a mandatory boil advisory due to low water pressure and possible contaminants. No contaminants have been detected at this time according to NMED.

Please boil your water before drinking, making ice, feeding a baby, or giving pets water.

For those in need, packaged drinking water has started at Rodriguez Park, located at 1308 Grant Street, Las Vegas, NM 87701. The Abe Montoya Recreation Center pick-up site will no longer be in operation. Each household may pick up two (2) cases of water per day at the Rodriguez Park location.

Ongoing repairs and upgrades to the water treatment plant will be enduring over the next few days. For more information and official updates go to www.lasvegasnm.gov and look out for road signs including phone numbers and more information.
